Technology is all around us, and algorithms have arrived in the world of photography. However, the outcomes are not always as expected.
Each of the titles of these images has been selected based on the labels assigned by a commercially available artificial intelligence software, and the machine has used the objects, shapes, colours, or emotions reflected in the picture to analyze its content.
The AI promises more than 98% accuracy in image recognition, but what we find are contradictions between what we see and what the machine "thinks" it is seeing: and this sometimes leads to amusing contrasts, but sometimes to disturbing situations.
