This photographic project documents the Sierra de Guadarrama as a collision zone between rural tradition and urban modernity radiating from Madrid. 

The images record how the landscape transforms at the pace of new residents, where the search for a ‘natural’ retreat translates into a constant remodeling, imposing lifestyles and infrastructures that redefine the local ecosystem. 

The series exposes the paradox of a landscape that, while immutable, is in a constant process of conceptual and physical redecoration, and asks a crucial question: if transformation is the only constant, what remains of a place's 'essence' when even its geology ends up serving as a backdrop for another lifestyle?
